Sizzling Solutions: How to Stay Cool on Your Wedding Day

There’s nothing quite like a Southern wedding, but there’s also nothing quite like a southern summer either!  If you’re hosting a summer celebration in Georgia, you can expect higher temperatures and humidity, but at A Divine Event we have learned a few ways to help keep you and your loved ones comfortable and happy on your special day. Beat the heat with these tips for hosting the perfect summer soiree.

The best way to beat the heat is to stay hydrated! Make sure you and your guests drink plenty of water so everyone can enjoy your magical day.

Staying hydrated with plenty of cool water is a winning strategy for any wedding, doubly so in the summertime. Our dinner service always comes with pre-poured waters, but there are many ways to keep an iced beverage in your guests’ hand all day long. Providing water station for the durations of your event will ensure your guests will stay hydrated throughout the day, bonus points if that includes infused flavors or juices. Welcome your guests with a beautifully displayed tea station, and consider a second bar to serve your guests quicker on a humid day.  We also love a curated summer drink selection! And if you really want to lean into the summer spirit, book our “Cherry On Top” ice cream station for a reception snack.

If your wedding festivities are planned for outdoors, consider choosing a time and location that provides ample shade for everyone. Exchanging vows under the canopy of a gorgeous pecan tree, on a shaded terrace or luscious gardens adds not only comfort but romanticism to your ceremony. You can also provide guests with fans or misters. Folding fans make a cute and practical favor to help guests beat the heat, or consider printing your program on cardstock and adding a holding stick to create a dual purpose item without adding to the wedding budget.

Another great way to beat the Georgia heat is to limit your time outside to the ceremony and dinner and opt to enjoy dancing indoors. After all, the party always lasts longer than the meal! If you can’t be indoors, consider canopies or tents to help things stay shaded. All of our venues are spacious and have many options and possible floor-plans to optimize your summer event. Our experts can help select the best times and locations to keep you and your guests comfortable and happy.
