Advantages of a Winter Wedding

Your special day will be beautiful regardless of the time of year you decide to have your wedding. Winter is an especially good time to have a wedding. Although you may think of spring and summer as the peak times for a wedding, winter weddings also have their advantages.

Lower wedding costs and more venue options:

When it comes to weddings, timing is everything. Winter is not considered the peak wedding season by most venues. This means there will be less competitive relative to other times of the year to book your venue. Many brides will be disappointed to find their dream venue for their special day will also be the same dream venue for hundreds of other brides at the same time, too.  The competition in the summer months is fierce. Typically there are generally more venue dates available in the winter months. Couples can go for an option that will not only make planning less stressful, and your wedding day cheaper, but also more unique. Since venues are less likely to be booked in the winter months, they are more than likely able to respond favorably to price negotiations.

Cheaper travel and accommodation prices:

In addition to more venue options, and potentially lower venue costs, guests may benefit from your winter wedding. If your guests are traveling from outside of the state of Georgia, they may be able to travel for less than if they were traveling during peak seasons. Planning your wedding around the off-seasons for traveling has its advantages. More friends and loved ones may be able to attend your big day if they’re able to pay less for their travel and accommodations. It’s a win-win for everyone involved.

Easier planning:

When planning your wedding, consider all of the festivities that go along with your wedding. If you’re planning on having a bridal shower and bachelorette party, a winter wedding may make planning these events easier. If you have a winter wedding, you can plan your wedding festivities around holiday breaks. This will help ensure your friends and family don’t have to take off work and experience any extra inconveniences when celebrating your big day.

Don’t sweat about the weather:

Everyone knows how up and down the weather is in the state of Georgia. Don’t sweat it, literally. If you choose to have a winter wedding, you’re much less likely to experience the humidity and heat that’s typical for the state of Georgia. If you’d rather not sweat on your wedding day, but you do like a warmer climate, you always have the option of going somewhere warm for your honeymoon.
